Use Workspace Templates
The Templates section lets you start from a ready-made app idea instead of writing a prompt from scratch. Templates are useful when you want a faster start or want to explore what CloudMySite Genie can build.
For the full catalog overview by category, theme, and technology, see Ready-to-Use Templates for Genie Apps.
Open Templates
- Open My Workspace.
- Select Templates in the sidebar.
- Browse the available app templates.
You can return to the main Apps page at any time with Dashboard.
What a Template Shows
Each template card can include:
- preview image
- template name
- description
- category
- framework or stack label
- tags
- Use Template button
The preview helps you understand the type of app before you add it to your workspace.
Search Templates
Use the template search box when you know what kind of app you want.
You can search by:
- template name
- description
- category
- tags
Examples of useful searches include:
- CRM
- booking
- dashboard
- finance
- portal
- content
Filter by Category
Category buttons appear above the template grid when templates include categories.
Use All to see every template again, or choose a category to narrow the list.
Refresh Templates
Select Refresh if the template list looks outdated or did not load correctly. CloudMySite will request the latest published templates.
If templates cannot be loaded, the page will show an error message. Try refreshing again after a moment.
Use a Template
To start from a template:
- Review the template name, preview, and description.
- Select Use Template.
- Wait while CloudMySite creates a new workspace from that template.
- Open the new app and customize it for your business.
Using a template creates a new app workspace. It does not overwrite your existing apps.
After a Template Is Added
After the template is added to your workspace, you can:
- edit pages and features in the builder
- ask Genie to change the design or behavior
- open Admin to configure forms, login, Stripe, domains, secrets, or database settings
- publish or deploy when ready
- return to All Apps to manage it later
When to Use a Template Instead of a Prompt
Use a template when:
- you want a faster starting point
- the template already matches your business type
- you want to see a working example
- you plan to customize an existing structure
Use the Launch Pad prompt when:
- you need a very specific workflow
- your app idea is unusual
- you want Genie to design the structure from your description
- you have a screenshot, sketch, or image reference to attach
