Start Apps from the Workspace Launch Pad

The Apps section in My Workspace is the launch pad for new Genie apps. It lets you describe what you want in normal language and then starts the builder for you.

Use this section when you want to create a new app, dashboard, portal, booking tool, CRM, internal workflow, or other business app.

What You See on the Apps Page

The Apps page includes:

  • CloudMySite Launch Pad: the main area for starting a new app.
  • Build brief: the text box where you describe what the app should do.
  • Workspace status: a quick check showing prompt flow and recent project history.
  • Prompt attachment menu: options to upload, generate, or choose an image.
  • Start from a use case: quick chips such as Tasks & Workflows, CRM & Sales, Content & Sites, Finance, Booking, and More.
  • Recent apps: your latest app projects shown below the launch pad.

Write a Good Build Brief

The build brief is the most important part. Describe the outcome you want, who will use the app, and the main screens or actions it should include.

A useful brief often includes:

  • the type of business or team
  • the main users
  • the main tasks the app should support
  • any pages, dashboards, tables, or forms you expect
  • whether the app needs login, payments, file uploads, messages, or a database

Example:

Build a CRM dashboard for a home cleaning company. It should track leads, customers,
appointments, follow-ups, invoices, and service notes. Include a customer portal,
admin dashboard, and simple reporting.

You can start small. It is fine to ask for the first version and improve it in the builder later.

Attach an Image to the First Prompt

Use the plus button near the build brief when an image would help explain the app.

You can:

  • Upload from computer: add a screenshot, sketch, logo, product photo, or reference image.
  • Generate with AI: open Image Studio and create an image before starting the app.
  • Choose from image history: attach an image you already generated.
  • Clear attachment: remove the selected image before starting.

Good image attachments include logos, brand references, UI screenshots, product photos, floor plans, diagrams, or examples of the style you want.

Use a Use Case Chip

The use case chips help you start with a common app category. Selecting a chip can prefill the prompt with a starter direction.

Common choices include:

  • Tasks & Workflows for operations, approvals, checklists, and internal tools.
  • CRM & Sales for leads, deals, customers, follow-ups, and pipeline views.
  • Content & Sites for content apps, mini-sites, publishing workflows, or resource libraries.
  • Finance for invoices, expenses, quotes, reporting, and account views.
  • Booking for appointments, reservations, schedules, and availability.

After selecting a chip, add your own details before starting the build.

Start the Build

When your brief is ready:

  1. Review the prompt.
  2. Make sure any image attachment is the one you want.
  3. Select Start build.
  4. Wait for the builder workspace to open.

If the button shows Starting..., CloudMySite is preparing the workspace.

If AI Credits Are Reached

If your workspace has reached its AI token or credit limit, the launch pad may show an AI tokens reached message. You can still review your workspace, but you may need to upgrade or wait for renewal before starting another build.

Use Workspace capacity to review your plan, credits used, remaining balance, and upgrade option.

After the Build Starts

After you start a build, Genie opens the builder. From there you can:

  • preview the app
  • ask Genie to revise screens or behavior
  • open Admin for app settings
  • publish or deploy when ready
  • return to My Workspace later from app history

For app management after the first build, see Manage Apps in My Workspace.
