Ready-to-Use Templates for Genie Apps
CloudMySite Genie templates are prebuilt apps and websites that you can add to your workspace, customize, and publish. They are useful when you want to start quickly without asking Genie to design every screen from a blank prompt.
Templates are written for nontechnical users. You choose a template, add it to your workspace, and then use Genie or the builder to customize text, images, colors, sections, forms, and business details.
Why Use a Template
Use a ready-to-use template when you want:
- a faster starting point
- a polished design structure
- common pages and sections already included
- fewer blank-page decisions
- a lower AI credit or token footprint than a full build from scratch
- an app you can customize instead of fully generating the first version
Because the main structure is already built, Genie usually has less work to do during the first setup. Customizing a template still uses AI credits when you ask Genie to make changes, but it can avoid the larger planning and scaffolding effort that a blank custom app often requires.
How Templates Work
When you select Use Template, CloudMySite creates a new draft app in your workspace from the published template.
The new draft:
- gets its own workspace ID
- appears in My Workspace and All Apps
- can be edited separately from the original template
- can be duplicated, deleted, deployed, or customized like other Genie apps
- does not overwrite your existing apps
Published deployment settings, custom domains, and production data are not copied from the source template. You start with a clean draft that is ready for your business details.
Where to Find Templates
- Open My Workspace.
- Select Templates from the sidebar.
- Search or filter the template gallery.
- Review the preview image, description, category, tags, and tech label.
- Select Use Template.
- Customize the new draft in your workspace.
For the workspace view, see Use Workspace Templates.

Themes You Can Start From
The current templates cover several practical themes:
- Business and sales: ecommerce, SaaS, real estate, portfolios, conferences.
- Local services: restaurants, clinics, fitness coaching, travel agencies.
- Education: schools, test prep, tutoring, language programs, course creators, edtech apps.
- Interactive apps and games: quiz apps, memory games, arcade games, and browser-based game experiences.
- Lead generation: templates with contact CTAs, inquiry sections, booking prompts, or lead form UI.
- Trust building: testimonials, reviews, provider profiles, program details, stats, and benefits.
Technology Used
The current ready-to-use template catalog is marked as vite-react.
For nontechnical users, that means the templates are built with a modern web app foundation that is fast to preview, customize, and deploy through CloudMySite.
For technical teams, this usually means:
- React app structure
- Vite build tooling
- reusable component-based pages
- compatibility with CloudMySite app publishing workflows
Genie also has starter foundations for other use cases, such as plain HTML/CSS/JavaScript apps, Canvas or browser games, Phaser games, and Eleventy static sites. The published ready-to-use catalog listed above currently uses the Vite React template framework.
Why Templates Can Use Fewer AI Credits
Starting from scratch asks Genie to plan the app, choose structure, create files, write layouts, add starter content, and prepare the first working version.
A template already includes much of that first version. That can reduce AI usage because Genie can focus on customization, such as:
- changing the business name
- rewriting text
- updating sections
- replacing colors
- adjusting images
- adding a contact form
- connecting Stripe, authentication, or other Admin settings
- tailoring pages for your industry
Large changes can still use more credits. For example, turning a simple landing page template into a full custom portal with login, payments, dashboards, and database features will require more AI work than small text and design changes.
How to Choose the Right Template
Choose a template based on the closest match to your goal, not the exact name.
For example:
- A Restaurant & Cafe template can also work for bakeries, food trucks, caterers, or coffee shops.
- A Medical Clinic template can be adapted for dentists, therapists, wellness clinics, or specialty providers.
- A Real Estate Agency template can be adjusted for property managers, apartment locators, or home service lead generation.
- An Online Course Creator template can work for coaching, workshops, memberships, or digital programs.
- A QuizMaster or AI Tutor Learning App template can become a training tool, onboarding quiz, or educational product.
Start with the template that has the closest layout and purpose. Then ask Genie to customize the details.
Best Customization Prompts
After adding a template, use specific prompts like:
Customize this template for a pediatric dental clinic in Austin.
Use a friendly tone, add services for cleanings, braces referrals,
emergency visits, and online appointment requests.
Turn this course template into a landing page for a 6-week AI bootcamp.
Add sections for curriculum, instructor credibility, pricing, FAQs,
and a call to action for enrollment.
Update this ecommerce template for a handmade candle store.
Use warm colors, add product categories, customer reviews,
shipping notes, and a holiday gift section.
What to Set Up After Customizing
After the template looks right, open Admin to configure any business features you need:
- Forms for contact, quote, booking, or inquiry submissions.
- Authentication if visitors need accounts or protected pages.
- Stripe if the app accepts payments.
- Domains when you are ready to use a live address.
- Secrets for private integration keys.
- Database for apps that store data.
- Analytics and Security before and after launch.
For details, see Admin Overview.
Good Template Workflow
- Choose the closest template.
- Add it to My Workspace.
- Replace sample business details.
- Ask Genie for focused changes.
- Configure Admin settings.
- Preview the app.
- Publish or deploy when ready.
- Return to All Apps to manage it later.
Templates are meant to give you a strong head start. You can keep them close to the original design or use them as a foundation for something more custom.
